We collect very little, and we would rather explain it in plain words than bury it.
In effect from 23 August 2026
What this covers
yogaseminars.com is a directory of yoga seminars, workshops, teacher trainings and retreats. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do. It applies to this website only.
What we collect
If you create an account we store your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. That is the whole account record.
If you list a seminar we store what you enter: the listing itself, the venue address, your contact email and the name you publish under.
If you ask for email alerts we store the address and the city or style you asked about, nothing more.
What we do not do
We do not store your IP address. Page views are recorded against a hash of your IP and browser that is re-salted every day, so yesterday's activity cannot be linked to today's.
We run no advertising scripts, and nothing here follows you to other sites.
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Cookies we do set
A session cookie once you sign in, so you stay signed in. A small preference cookie remembering the timezone you chose for displaying times. Both are necessary for the site to work as intended, and neither follows you elsewhere.
If you allow it, Google Analytics also sets cookies. See below.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people arrive on. It sets cookies and sends your IP address and browsing activity on this site to Google, who process it on their own terms.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it starts with storage switched off: the tag runs, but nothing is written to your device and no identifier is kept, unless you agree. If you say no we leave it off and do not ask again. Elsewhere it is on by default, and clearing this site's data in your browser resets the choice.
Our own view counting is separate and does not depend on this. It stores no IP address and no cookie: a page view is recorded against a hash of your IP and browser that is re-salted every day, so yesterday cannot be linked to today.
Services we rely on
Cloudflare hosts the site and its database, and provides the approximate location used for "near me" search. Resend delivers our email. Google provides optional sign-in and, with your permission, analytics. OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service converts a submitted venue address into coordinates. Each receives only what it needs to do that job.
Listings compiled from public announcements
Some listings were compiled from event announcements published openly by organizers, so that people could find them. These are marked "Unclaimed listing" and always link back to the original.
We record factual details, a short attributed excerpt, and a reference to the organizer's own image. We do not copy full descriptions and we do not re-host anyone's photographs.
If a listing is yours, you can claim it and edit it, or ask us to remove it and we will. Write to hello@yogaseminars.com.
How long we keep things
Account and listing data stays until you delete it or ask us to. Alert subscriptions end when you unsubscribe, using the link in every email. Aggregated view counts are kept indefinitely because they identify nobody.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@yogaseminars.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK, EU or a similar jurisdiction, you also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, for anything significant, email account holders. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
